Part of our reverence for wood is a commitment to minimize waste in everything we do, because wood is both an exhaustible and renewable resource.

It starts with maximizing the usability of the wood planks we purchase.  Our production and wood storage areas are maintained at perfect humidity levels for workability, ensuring a higher percentage of usable planks.  

Almost every process in our shop generates sawdust.  Lots of it.  Our heating systems are designed to use this sawdust as fuel, helping us keep costs down while improving the sustainability of our entire shop.  The sawdust we can’t use, we send to area barns to use as stable bedding.  From the time a piece of lumber enters our shop, virtually every part of it is productively used.

Finally, the materials we use for glueing and finishing are selected for their sustainability and low VOC characteristics, as well as their quality.  Every product we manufacture is fully recyclable and safe for the environment inside the home.
